Tips Tuesday – Now What?!

I don’t know about you but I have a list a mile long of ‘Things I gotta Do’!  There never seems enough hours in the day.  The day starts with a list, which grows instead of shrinks, then ends with frustration and defeat, when life gets in the way and the items on the list needs to be ‘bumped’.  Or more likely the list is too long to begin with.  Probably crowded with items that are not even priorities for us, but perhaps have been placed there by others.  What is written between the lines of the to do items is judgment, expectation, disappointment.  Who is the projector of these negative feelings?  Is it you?  Your mom?  Your fourth grade teacher?  Your husband?  Your Kids?  Your Boss?  You get the picture.  Find out how to identify who and how The Writing On Your Wall got there!  Feb 23rd 6-9 Call for a seat 519-404-6627

We tend to lose site of why we are here.  We decide to agree with everyone outside of us, motivated with greed, fame, esteem, attention, popularity, appreciation and respect from others.  As our lives fly by while we rush to reach unlimited heights of everything we are told is important, we never stop to question it.  Until we hit ‘Mid-Life Crisis’ or perhaps serious illness forces us to stop or at the very least slow down, which for many feeling a lot like an all out neck breaking STOP!  For a few that are focused more on observing their lives and dissecting their actions by questioning the ingredients of what is in our collective cultural ‘KoolAid’, their experience is more peaceful, subtle and accepting of selves and others.  Either way the opportunity to redirect through the experience is met with our Free Will.  Will we Decide to see this momentary pause as the chance to fully participate in life or will we choose to hop back on the treadmill until we are ejected off the end of the ride!

The purpose of this post is to give you permission to STOP.  Question the KoolAid, and ask yourself truly, do you want a second serving, or will you pass on that last call and choose a healthier option. Maybe just Maybe, it’s ok to do this whole ‘Life‘ thing a different way!  This doesn’t happen over night.  Start with falling back in love with life experiences.  Observe EVERYTHING!  The detail on the coat of the lady standing in front of you in the elevator.  Listen to the rain till it resembles music.  Inhale deeply as soon as you step outside to smell the air, the dirt, the stone, the flowers! Sit on the couch in silence with your eyes closed, paying acute attention to what you feel.  Is there any tension in your body?  Can you focus on that part of your body and breath into that area deeply to release all the tension, focusing on each and every area in sequence.

You might be thinking ok, anyone watching me is going to think I’m crazy!  Well, trust me, you may think everyone is watching you but that is just the KoolAid Hang Over!  No offense, but everyone else is too busy thinking about how everyone else is looking at them, too busy to watch your every move.  So this freedom provides you with ample opportunity to investigate your new found child like view of the world!  And when you least expect it you’ll find it!  YOUR LIFE!

Tips Tuesday – Healthy Self Love = Heart Health! Happy V-Day XO

 

This is my Valentines gift to you from us at HHDS!  I posted these videos for you to understand how SELF LOVE is the first step to any other harmonious relationship.  The Relationship you have with yourself is reflected in relationships outside of you. If you completely unconditionally love and accept yourself you will be more capable of unconditionally loving and accepting others!  Fun thing is, We think we know what unconditional love is, but really very few do.  Unconditional love is the complete acceptance of others and self.  Regardless of How they behave, What they do or don’t do,Where they are in their own awareness an physical distance, Why they think the way thy do and Who they are.  There are no conditions.  Many people are not capable of loving themselves to this degree let alone others.  And to repeat, you must do this for yourself before you can experience the bliss of an unconditional relationship with another.  So where do you begin to create unconditional love for yourself and create blissful health happiness and magnetic energy to those around you attracting others that will respect you and accept you just as you are?   All of these videos will explain why it is SOOOO important to recognize the absolute necessity of Self Care.  Self Care is another way of saying, Self Love and it is the awareness of your own mind, body and spiritual state Being mindful of whether or not you are in a favorable state that supports a optimal health in all three of these areas, is what is required as a first step.  When you balance your stress, frustration, negative thoughts, your over all wellbeing and self acceptance will improve.  But NOONE ELSE can do this for you since you are the only one with access to your inner awareness which is your gauge to your over all vibrational wellbeing.  Whether you are single or in a relationship this awareness is indispensable!

If you are single becoming more aware of your inner peace or chaos will help you create greater inner awareness so you can address unhealthy inner behavior manifesting turmoil outside of you.   This will begin to reflect outside of you on a regular basis.  As this happens you begin to attract that which you desire, a balance supportive unconditional relationship.  The funny thing is , as you focus on your own health and respect your mind body spirit health, more unexpected opportunities to begin new healthy relationships will pop up unexpectedly!  So focus on your care, increase your health and be a magnet for happy new beginnings!

If you are in a relationship it is equally imperative that you focus and schedule in Self Care/Love. Relationships are a reflection of our personal health.  If you are in an unhealthy relationship void of balance, acceptance, nurturing and mutual support it is because you have STARVED yourself of these beautiful energizing needs.  As we fulfill our own needs, we rely less on others, become less of a burden, become less judgmental and in turn others feel less pressured to have to be the one to sustain you as most people barely can meet their own needs!

This is a different approach to what we have been ‘trained’ or ‘programmed’ to believe.  I have an amazing workshop called ‘The Writing On Your Wall’ coming up this February 23rd from 6-9 @AuthentikaStudio on Marsland drive, which will help you examine the ‘Programming’ on your wall of awareness that repeats unhealthy behaviors and habits that create a cycle of pain inside you and reflect outside of you in relationships personally and professionally.  To reserve a seat call 519-886-8624

What do I mean when I state the Grand Connection?  Mind, Body Spirit?  Yup!  Human Beings, Creatures, Plants and The Earth?  Yup?  Us and Them?  You and Me?  AS above so Below?  Yup, Yup, Yup!

For six years I have racked my brain to find safer options for our space, more nurturing services, deeper meaning to what we do, farther reaching positive impact for our efforts to educate and more effective ways to show the connection between all of the above!

This lovely simple clean line was created out of love and awareness see here, http://world.ca/pages/world-story.  Motivated by the same realities that motivated me at the time of our opening of HHDS, Brian came up and has since improved upon formulas that can Simplify, Amplify while executing it’s task to Beautify!  Having recently been introduced to this amazing product line, I’m still learning its amazing multiy purpose affects!  Many of the products can be used on HAIR AND SKIN!  WOW!  Loving how we can reduce our bottles, simplify our morning regimen and guarantee less exposure to chemicals!  Just a few examples of how World can be used in multiple ways:

Tips Tuesday – The Mortality age gap, Men Vs Women, and why?

There has been a theme to my rantings about how so many of us are not taking well enough care of ourselves.  It is so important that we do.  Our Mind Body and Emotions are all connected and they NEED self care to stay balanced, this is maintenance not pampering.  I have a theory, I believe it is Self Care that will be the Fountain of youth for many.  You see Men on average have died younger then women, and it is suggested this is due to the majority of men having been exposed to the rigors and stressors of full time work for generationaly longer then women.  What supports this is that as time has gone by Women have been closing the mortality gap faster and faster as more women are committing to more full time careers and exposed to the same stressors as men.  So while my theory of self care in this article specifically is directed at men, women too will benefit from it’s wisdom.

As the proud owner of K-W’s 1st Eco Friendly Salon Spa and Energy I witness many guests life struggles, stressors and celebrations.  Commonly women have been over the years more excepted in the spa setting.  This seems to be simply a cultural acceptance.  For some reason, men do not enjoy this same acceptance to forms of self care in this manner.  There is a stigma where ‘Manscaping’ might be considered high maintenance or too feminine for most testosterone bearing counter parts.  But why?  Programming, as a Holistic Life Coach, Energy Psychologist and Owner of The Institute For Harmonious Living I recognize the dysfunctional imbalance we have towards the sexes and their natural needs for nurturing.  Women traditionally are considered soft, weak, emotional, we expect them to show and share emotions, we tend to gravitate to each other to console and nurture. Men are taught to be rough tough, unemotional, don’t cry when you get hurt or look for comfort or you are considered a wimp.  Look how we have conditioned ourselves? Neither programmed belief is accurate.   Now as women step equally into the work force we have adopted the belief that to be in the ‘Man’s World’ we must adopt their behaviors of self numbing in emotion and self care.  Don’t get me wrong, I see women every day that suffer from every form of guilt you can imagine!  Mother’s Guilt, Working Guilt, Image Flaw Guilt, it’s crazy and therefore we tell ourselves we are not WORTHY of self care.  But I think you will agree that as our opposite sex roles become blurred we must look at what we are doing to support ourselves through this shift.  This way we will teach our next generation how to better maintain healthy mind, body and emotion awareness.

Lets look at what happens to our bodies with stress, many who follow this blog are familiar with Fight or Flight right?  It is a physical reaction that the body uses in cases of being under attack and releasing endorphins and hormones into the body that are only supposed to be there in case of lethal danger, but we live there voluntarily daily when we adopt stressful thinking and behaviours creating habits that trigger us all the time to react this way over and over.  This behavior is preventing the body to function normally and eventually leading the body to decay and create illness.  How do we combat this?  SELF CARE.  Self care allows the mind to stop its incessant negative chatter, relaxes muscles and allows good chemicals and hormones to flood the body with happy juice, allowing the organs to focus on their natural highly intelligent job of maintaining good health repairing and regenerating healthy cells, not being distracted with pretend dangers.  The skin is your largest organ.  Nurturing this organ with proper cleaning and moisturizing habits is no different then visiting the dentist and eating healthfully.  Pressure points under the skin can be activated through massage. reflexology and lymph drainage to assist the body in its effort to repair and detoxify.  The mind relaxes further and allows the emotions to balance allowing you to settle deeper into relaxation.  The mind is a machine and without constant supervision will create a reality you do not want.  By controlling the thoughts you control and improve your life experiences significantly.

I have invited several male friends to pop in for services to share with you their personal insight on self care.  Some had never had services like this before, others may have scoffed at it and still others were embarrassed to try it.  Luckily I know some amazing people who were willing to be part of my private study.  In the coming weeks I will share with you their feelings towards their self care experiences at HHDS.  I hope to encourage women too, to expand their regimens to more then just cuts colours and the odd nail treatments.  We have a couple amazing ideas for this year introducing opportunities for our guests to create a comfortable budget while maintaining proper self care and improving their life experiences.  Watch here for future testimonials and great promotional opportunities to sample wonderful self care services and improve your health!

Tips Tuesday – C/O Institute For Harmonious Living, Part of The Problem or Part of The Solution?

There will always be a problem or challenge or injustice for someone somewhere.  The latest ability to raise awareness is social media. Accurate or not, it is one of the most effective ways to share information.  However I will be suggesting here that what we now know about energy transference, perhaps we are adding to the Problem more then the Solution?  Some people will recognize my favorite poem here:

One of my many collections of favorite quotes and inspiring thoughts is the following:  Mother Theresa never joins an ‘Anti-War’ Rally or ‘Anti-Racism’ Rally, she would always join ‘Pro-Peace’ or ‘Pro-Love’ Rallies though.  Do you see the difference?

I have been told by many people disdainfully that I am an overly sensitive person, or too lovey dovey or too forgiving or just too soft.  But here’s the thing we all have a purpose and that is mine.  I am also a ‘Fixer’, this combination is dangerous!  I see injustice, pain, havoc, unrest and I look for ways to assist, Heck that’s how I ended up opening KW’s First Eco Friendly Salon and Spa!  I recently posted on facebook a question to my friends, ‘We Have History Class, Why Not Future Class, Where Kids Discuss, Brainstorm and in General Manifest Amazing Future Inventions, And Solutions For Economic Problems, Eco Problems and Racial Issues, Among Other Global Imbalances?’

I recently was exposed to two videos on facebook, no doubt they were accurately depicting some farmer somewhere executing horrific acts upon animals, calves to be exact, many of you are probably familiar with this/these video(s). (For some balanced clarity I was raised on a farm where animals were respected and handled with earnest care)  I have not finished viewing it either time I was exposed to it.  You see I can’t, I am physically negatively impacted by it, emotionally negatively impacted by it, psychologically negatively impacted by it.  Just as I was before I made the efforts to start HHDS.  So I ask the makers of these videos, what is the motivation behind the videos?  Did you contact the proper authorities?  Is this just sensationalism?  If this is in an effort to create change has anyone done anything or do we think we are saving animals by sharing the video, because we are not.  There is a responsibility that we have to our fellow human being, our fellow species, our friendly planet that ‘allows’ us to inhabit it’s surface.  I understand many who get ovewhelmed, I have felt that way thiking, what could i possibly do?  I’m just one person.  I have and still do feel that way sometimes, but then I read the previous poems and quotes.  If YOU don’t WHO WILL?

So let’s look at the energy behind the spreading of negative comments, videos or statements.  Not everyone would agree here thinking that everyone should enjoy the freedom of speech.  How does it make the ‘Sharer’ feel?  What is their motivation?  Are they doing enough to help?  Are they continuing their efforts to help after the video is sent?  Think of that negative feeling shared by the new watcher?  The process your mind, emotions and then the triggers of fight or flight the body experiences.  We now understand that the body sends out chemicals that are meant to only be expelled during a violent attack to fight off or flee from the perpetrator.  What then does this person do to assist the victims portrayed in the video?  I’m not just talking about Calves (animals), but Immigrants, suppressed minorities, children, individuals with mental illness.  We have UnPlugged while Plugging in more to technology, becoming more and more desensitized.  We think that by ‘Informing’ people, that ‘Informing alone’ is enough.  It’s not, this is a luxury we can no longer relax into ignorance blindly.  The Planet and all of it’s inhabitants NEED YOU.  Not someone else, YOU.

What will you choose to be?  Part of the Problem?  Or Part of the Solution?

Example:

Problem: Mistreatment of Cattle/Livestock

Solution: Compile a list of local (Preferably Organic) farmers that treat their livestock with care and respect and offer sales to the community directly and share this list on social media.  Attempt to contact either the person who originally recorded the video to see if the animals have been rescued, if not seek out local authorities.  Done.

If you are like me and find yourself very sensitive and suffer from anxiety witnessing the pain of the world, trust me the pain , and collective guilt of being part of the problem subsides as soon as you take action and be part of the Solution!  This Positive action step on your personal part is so empowering and relieves the anxiety as you lead others by example, creating greater and greater consciousness in others too!  Next time you see something you know is wrong, you feel is not right, you recognize in your heart and soul is against humanity, be the change, pick up the phone, contact the authorities, stop the spread of fear and pain that perpetuates more fear and pain.

Some may recognize Morgan as the Original ‘Face’ of HHDS, but this time she was behind the camera, it looks like my Daughter Emma has taken her place in front of the camera!  LOL!  We showcase their work here…

Was it fun?  HELL YA!  We love what we do, and it shows!  We do these Photo Shoots To remind everyone that GREEN IS SEXY!  Also many people claim that Eco Products don’t work as well, well, we have proven that statement wrong as well!  We get outstanding Colour, Ammonia Free, amazing hold, with 70%-80% Aloe Vera first Hair cleansing and styling products, gorgeous glossy Polish shades and Shellacs that last!

I want to thank all of our models who participated and braved the chilly air to get these shots, you were outstanding and it was worth the discomfort to get such amazing Fall Colors as our natural back drop!  Watch for more fun Eco-Shoots coming again soon!
